17. Romans 1:21-25 Part 1 (5-24-23)
17. Romans 1:21-25-Part 1
Pastor Phil Ballmaier
Calvary Chapel Elk Grove
5-24-23

Tonight Pastor Phil puts the spotlight on Part 1 of Romans Chapter 1, verses 21-25. Sadly men look to themselves, the stars, evolution and other humanistic or atheistic ways to explain why they are here—unfortunately their search is devoid of God. Or what one could consider wise in their own eyes. Pastor Phil will explore this tonight. It is in searching, and asking God to reveal Himself to us that the true answers come.

There is a battle for our minds. A spiritual one. As believers we are to put on the whole armor of God as Paul describes in Ephesians 6. As a seeker, we are to search the truths of God through His Word, opening our hearts to the power of The Holy Spirit to transform us, and once we do God reveals Himself to us in pursuit for eternal life by salvation through Jesus,

Paul chose Rome for a reason when he went out to preach. Firstly, because God had sent him, but because Rome was a central 'point of the world' as 'all roads lead to Rome'. So if he shared the Gospel there, whomever received it would carry God's Word, and the testimonies of Paul and the work they'd seen done out into the four corners of the world.

Often referred to as the Gospel according to Paul, and the greatest book ever written, Paul's letter to the Romans will become our focus as
Pastor Phil continues to lead us through the Word of God.

    Pastor Phil Ballmaier

    5-17-23

Tonight Pastor Phil puts the spotlight on Part 3 of Romans Chapter 1, verse 19-20. The Bible is very clear that God reveals Himself to us in different ways. Prophecy, speaking to us through His Word, revealing Himself to us through Creation, and through the life of His most precious gift. Jesus Christ. Sadly men look to the stars and evolution and other humanistic or atheistic ways to explain why they are here—devoid of God. Our faith is built on the infallible truths of God's Word, revealed through the beauty of His craftsmanship...

So Pastor Phil, in review has looked at the many arguments for the existence of God and it starts in verse 1 of the Bible. In the beginning, God created... There is the cosmological argument, teleological and the moral argument of the true existence of God. May hearts throw away the bonds of the untruths and put on the Word of God, that contains everything man needs to know Him.

Pastor Phil normally approaches the study of The Bible verse-by-verse, but The Lord has laid it on his heart to study The Book of Philippians topically.

Today Pastor Phil shares Part 3 of his message, "Joy of Faith". Our joy lies in knowing and trusting in The One Who promises to supply all of our needs, and is faithful to do all that He's said.

The Book of Philippians was written by the Apostle Paul while he was imprisoned in Rome, likely around 61 or 62 AD. It is one of the four 'prison epistles' that Paul penned while in captivity. He counted it a joy to allow God to work everything for his good—even imprisonment.
This epistle teaches us the secret of having joy in a less than perfect world.

Pastor Phil normally approaches the study of The Bible verse-by-verse, but The Lord has laid it on his heart to study The Book of Philippians topically.

Today Pastor Phil shares how we must take up the shield of faith to withstand the wiles of the devil. The truest enemy of our souls.

But our faith must be built upon the knowledge that:
    1. God is Sovereign,
    2. That God loves us, and
    3. That God is infinitely wise.

Taking up the shield of faith isn't a one-time thing. We must do it daily, and sometimes even moment-by-moment, especially in times of trial.

Tonight Pastor Phil puts the spotlight on Romans Chapter 1, verse 20-21. We know from scripture that God is a righteousness, true and just God, and evil will not go unpunished and that He reveals Himself to us in different ways. Prophecy, speaking to us through His Word, revealing Himself to us through Creation, and through the life of His most precious gift. Jesus Christ, The Incarnation...  But one thing is certain, sin will be judged, and we need only accept The Gift that God offers through His Son.

As Pastor Phil described previously, Paul chose Rome for a reason when he went out to preach. Firstly, because God had sent him, but because Rome was a central 'point of the world' as 'all roads lead to Rome'. So if he shared the Gospel there, whomever received it would carry God's Word, and the testimonies of Paul and the work they'd seen done out into the four corners of the world.

Our hope and joy can only come from The Lord, and we can see Him clearly through His Word. May He open up our hearts to walk closer with The Lord Jesus.

The Book of Philippians was written by the Apostle Paul while he was imprisoned in Rome, likely around 61 or 62 AD. It is one of the four 'prison epistles' that Paul penned while in captivity. He counted it a joy to allow God to work everything for his good—even imprisonment.

The Book of Philippians teaches us the secret of having joy in a less than perfect world.

    13. Romans 1:18-20
    Pastor Phil Ballmaier

Tonight Pastor Phil puts the spotlight on Romans Chapter 1, verses 18-20. We know from scripture that God is a righteousness, true and just God, and evil will not go unpunished. One day the truth will stand!! We have been given the greatest gift—God's revelation to us. How precious are the promises of God's Word. It is the revelation of God's attributes to us. Revealing the greatest gift of all. The Incarnation—Jesus Christ, Who made the way for us to The Father..

Often referred to as the Gospel according to Paul, and the greatest book ever written, Paul's letter to the Romans will become our focus as Pastor Phil continues to lead us through the Word of God. In the first 17 verses of this letter, Paul is introducing himself to the Christians in Rome.

Tonight Pastor Phil puts the spotlight on Romans Chapter 1, verse 18. It's clear in the times that we live in that wickedness has become more apparent, and for the most part without remorse or accountable. We know from scripture that God is a righteousness, true and just God, and evil will not go unpunished. One day the truth will stand!!

    Joy in Proclaiming The Gospel
    Pastor Phil Ballmaier

Pastor Phil normally approaches the study of The Bible verse-by-verse, but The Lord has laid it on his heart to study The Book of Philippians topically.

Today Pastor Phil talks about the Apostle Paul's ability, despite being in prison and in chains, to praise The Lord and use every opportunity to share the Gospel with everyone he met, including his captors. We can only hope and pray that God would give us the grace and empower us to give Him glory in our afflictions, trials and hardships — and cease the moment to further the Gospel.
