48. Romans 5:2 (4-10-24)
48. Romans 5:2 | Final
Calvary Chapel Elk Grove
Pastor Phil Ballmaier
4-10-24

Tonight Pastor Phil continues in Romans, Chapter 5. Romans 5 is an amplification of the last 2 words of Romans 4: “Our justification”—and explains two basic truths: ‘The Blessings of Justification’; ‘The Basis for our Justification.’

Tonight he touches on the grace of God, as outlined in several areas of scripture. God is the God of all grace, and we are the recipients of such great compassion and love. God's Riches at Christ's Expense. We've been given peace with God, access to God and a standing with God because of the great sacrifice at Christ's expense.

Paul chose Rome for a reason when he went out to preach. Firstly, because God had sent him, but because Rome was a central 'point of the world' as 'all roads lead to Rome'. So if he shared the Gospel there, whomever received it would carry God's Word, and the testimonies of Paul and the work they'd seen done out into the four corners of the world.

Often referred to as the Gospel according to Paul, and the greatest book ever written, Paul's letter to the Romans will become our focus as Pastor Phil continues to lead us through the Word of God.

Calvary Chapel Elk Grove is a non-denominational fellowship located in Roselle, a northwest suburb of Chicago in Illinois.

Tonight Pastor Phil continues in Romans, Chapter 5, as he teaches on Justification by Faith and the freedom that comes through Jesus, versus the Law. It is through His finished work on the Cross that we are redeemed, and sanctified - it is a gift of God, so that no one can boast in their own works to earn it.

He didn't say, I came to save the 'do-gooder, or religion-keeper'— contrary - He came to save the lost sinner, of which we all are.

Paul chose Rome for a reason when he went out to preach. Firstly, because God had sent him, but because Rome was a central 'point of the world' as 'all roads lead to Rome'. Tonight Pastor Phil begins Romans, Chapter 5, as he continues to teach on Justification by Faith. He touched on Condemnation that came through the Law, and the power of God's Word to save through freedom in Christ, and His finished work on the Cross. Tonight we continue in the section of scripture where Paul points out justification by faith comes in trusting in Jesus and the qualities of true saving faith.

Righteousness can only come from Jesus, and His finished work, not being a deed keeper or religion— to be made right with God, we need to be reconciled to Him through Jesus... It's a gift, and not earned.

Tonight Pastor Phil continues in Chapter 3 of Romans. He touched on Condemnation that came through the Law, and the power of God's Word to save through freedom in Christ, and His finished work on the Cross. Tonight we move into the section of scripture where Paul points out justification by faith comes in trusting in Jesus.

Righteousness can only come from Jesus, and His finished work, not being a deed keeper or religion— to be made right with God, we need to be reconciled to Him through Jesus... It's a gift, and not earned.
