36. Romans 3:15-20 (1-3-24)
36. Romans 3:15-20
Calvary Chapel Elk Grove
Pastor Phil Ballmaier
1-3-24

Tonight Pastor Phil continues in Chapter 3 of Romans. He touches on Condemnation that came through the Law, and the power of God's Word to save through freedom in Christ, and His finished work on the Cross.

In this section of Scripture it's crystal clear when Paul recounts the Psalmist that says, "there is none righteous, no not one." Ask most people why they think they're good enough to go to heaven they'll often say - 'because I'm good. I'm a good person." Scripture speaks opposite of that. We are all sinners. Righteous can only come from Jesus, and what He's done for us.

The world says, we must "love ourselves, pamper ourselves." What does the Bible say? We must deny self. Oh the dangers of worldly philosophies and heresies that pull us away from the purposes and attributes of God!

Paul chose Rome for a reason when he went out to preach. Firstly, because God had sent him, but because Rome was a central 'point of the world' as 'all roads lead to Rome'. So if he shared the Gospel there, whomever received it would carry God's Word, and the testimonies of Paul and the work they'd seen done out into the four corners of the world.

Often referred to as the Gospel according to Paul, and the greatest book ever written, Paul's letter to the Romans will become our focus as Pastor Phil continues to lead us through the Word of God.

    Calvary Chapel Elk Grove
    Pastor Phil Ballmaier
    9-13-23

Tonight Pastor Phil continues in Chapter 2 of Romans.

The scriptures are clear that every man or woman who seeks after God will find Him. He reveals Himself in many ways, even in the far corners of the world. While we live, if one seeks after God with their whole hearts, He will not turn them away. God desires that all be saved and will, through His Holy Spirit reach out to seeking hearts. The Law was given to show men their sin. Jesus Christ was given to save men from it...

Calvary Chapel Elk Grove is a non-denominational fellowship located in Roselle, a northwest suburb of Chicago in Illinois.
