Since 1994, Calvary Chapel Elk Grove has had the privilege of supporting the ministry to the homeless and poor in the city of Chicago. Several times a year volunteers visit the homeless shelter in uptown Chicago to assist Cornerstone Community Outreach (www.ccolife.org)

Calvary members voluntarily donate for and serve Easter and Christmas dinner, and deliver Easter baskets and gifts for the men, women and children housed at the shelter. Additionally, Calvary participates in a Backpack Program to the homeless men and women of the community; providing backpacks assembled with donated items, street survival kits and food items.

With hearts of compassion individuals participated with providing grass roots, hands-on assistance to those affected by tornadoes in Alabama, downstate Illinois and Hurricane Sandy.

In 2012 alone, CCO served the community and the homeless over 20,000 warm meals.+
