Church Update | 4-8-2020 AM

Good Morning everyone,

I hope you and your families are healthy and untouched by this COVID-19 scourge we are all dealing with.

Amidst all of this fear and anxiety as we are fighting against an invisible enemy—let’s not forget, especially not this week, about the One Who died on Calvary’s cross and rose again—our blessed Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, Who conquered over the invisible enemies of death and the devil!

We can focus on the problem and experience fear and depression—or we can focus on the Prince of Peace Who is the solution for any problem or fear we face in life.

Please join us for our Good Friday Service which we will be livestreaming at 7 PM concluding with communion (have your elements ready to go).

Our Resurrection Sunday Service will be livestreamed at 10 AM—so please join us for both services as we focus on our precious Savior and how He has conquered over every foe both visible and invisible thru the blood of His cross!! (Colossians 2:15)

I love you all and know—though we walk thru the valley of the shadow of death we must not fear any evil, for the Lord our God is with us. And if He is with us and for us no one and nothing can be against us to conquer and destroy us!

This would be a good time to read and meditate on 2 Chronicles 20:1-30. This passage contains the story of how the people of the Southern Kingdom of Judah were facing 3 powerful nation enemies that they were absolutely no match for. King Jehoshaphat gathered the nation to Jerusalem for a day of fasting and prayer. As they prayed to God for guidance—the Lord directed them to put their ‘worship team’ out in front of their army and to march into battle praising the Lord.

As they did, the Lord began to work, and the enemy turned on each other and by the time the men of Judah got to the valley the enemy was encamped in—they were all dead! And they named the place the Valley of Berachah (“the Valley of Blessing”).

Listen people of God—the valleys God leads us into aren’t intended to defeat and destroy us—they are designed to stretch our faith, display God’s mighty power and give us victories that are not in our strength but in His strength. These valley’s of ‘death’ where the enemy tries to kill our faith and destroy our walk—if we will march into them with faith, praising our God for what He’s going to do in protecting us and delivering us—they will be turned from valleys of defeat, from valleys of the “shadow of death”—into valleys of ‘blessing’.

However, we must march into battle each day with praise for our God, as we trust in His promises and power to protect us and give us victory!

So, fear not little flock—the Lord is with you wherever you go!

Love you all,

Pastor Phil
