Church Update – 3-17-20 AM

Good Morning Calvary Family,

I know that the last few days have been harrowing to say the least—but once again, let’s remember that our God is on the throne and He will see us thru this!

Some good news: this morning it has been reported that the Coronavirus infection has slowed in China which means that the number of infections hopefully will start to go down.

Please remain vigilant in your prayers for our nation that the number of people getting this virus here will start to go down as well allowing meeting restrictions to be lifted and businesses to reopen (allowing our church to start meeting again at the Elk Grove Pavilion Rec Center).

Also, please continue to keep our President, his advisors, and COVID-19 response team in prayer. I believe President Trump is doing an excellent job leading us thru this crisis—and I truly thank God for giving us this president for “such a time as this!”

Because the President has asked Americans not to meet in groups larger than 10 people—I have, at least for the present time, put on hold plans to find another place for our church to meet at during this outbreak.

And so, as of right now, all studies and home groups are cancelled until further notice.

I am planning to pre-record and possibly even livestreaming this Sunday’s message.

We will post on our website in the next few days how you will be able to access the online teaching. I am praying about doing a special series during this time (taking a hiatus from our study in the Gospel of John) possibly thru the book of Habakkuk, which parallels a time in Israel’s history not unlike what we’re going thru in our nation today.

That’s it for now. Please keep checking our website for further updates.

Love you all,

Pastor Phil
