Important Reminder |4-6-21

Pastor Phil would like to remind everyone that even though masks are optional in our sanctuary suite, everyone is to please wear their face masks in all public areas of our building, including in the hallways and the restrooms.

This has been requested by the building management.

New Meeting Place News | 11-2-20

Dear Calvary Family,

God is good! By His grace we have found another place to meet in starting on Sunday November 8 (Wednesday November 4th is canceled).

PAVILION Mask Mandate | 7-17-2020

To Calvary Family,

* For update on the NEW Mask Mandate as of 7/24/20, click here.

We pray you are all doing well and we hope to see you this Saturday for the outreach with Pastor Mike Macintosh. It’ll be a great time.

As we continue to meet in the Pavilion for our normal church services, we have been asked, per the Governor’s mandate, and the management of the Rec Center, that EVERYONE over the age of 5 MUST wear a mask when entering the building, when in the hallways, and bathrooms.

This has been
mandated by the CDC under Phase 4 of the Restore Illinois plan and is non-negotiable.  Once we are in the Garden Terrace room, we are free to take them off (while continuing to social distance)… but they are requiring masks be worn in all common areas.

Per the rec center management, failure to do so could get a person removed from the facility. If our church members push this and refuse to wear face coverings in the common areas, it could lead to our removal from the building altogether.

We kindly ask that we all bring masks to wear, and if you do not have one, we will provide them for you at the door. This is something we have to do as a church body.  We have a responsibility to be a good witness to those around us by respecting their request..

2020 Vision For The Heartland Outreach

I want to invite everyone to a special outreach we are sponsoring on Saturday, July 18th.

Pastor and Evangelist Mike Macintosh will be coming out and sharing at The Gazebo at the Jack A. Claes Pavilion located at 1000 Wellington Avenue, in Elk Grove Village, IL.

The outreach will begin at 6 PM with worship, followed by a timely message from Pastor Mike concerning God’s love for the American people during this time of national crisis and uncertainty.

Mike has traveled the world preaching the gospel and has been given a special message from The Lord which he will be taking to the Heartland of our nation this summer. The outreach is called “2020 Vision for the Heartland”.

This is an outside venue so grab a blanket or a lawn chair and come join us for an evening of worship and a special uplifting message from the Lord.

For more information about the outreach or if you have any questions, please visit the Outreach Event website at: http://www.2020heartland.org

IMPORTANT CHURCH ANNOUNCEMENT | 6-29-20

We are praising The Lord that we will begin meeting once again at The Jack Claes Pavilion for church this coming Sunday, July 5th for our normal 8:30 AM & 10:30 AM Services.

We are also restarting Corporate Prayer prior to Sunday Service at 7:30 AM in Suite C. We will begin meeting in-person for Midweek Bible Study on Wednesday, July 15th at 7 PM, and Corporate Prayer at 6:00 PM in Suite C. We will be livestreaming study as well.

(Bible Study is cancelled on Wednesday, July 8th).

We will not have childcare available until further notice as a precaution. Anyone who wishes to attend services with their children are welcome to do so.

We are very thankful that The Lord has opened back up our doors and are looking forward to seeing everyone again! We will continue to put precautionary measures in place to stay healthy and safe. We encourage anyone with pre-existing health conditions, and our elderly saints to watch via our live stream if they feel more comfortable.

We will be livestreaming our 10:30 AM Sunday Service, and our Wednesday Bible Study at 7 PM on Facebook Live & Youtube moving forward.

If you have any questions, please feel free to call the church at 847.895.3545 or contact us here.  Please continue to pray for our church moving forward.

IMPORTANT CHURCH ANNOUNCEMENT | 6-2-2020

Good Evening Calvary Family,

I have some good news! After speaking with Pastor Jeff Deane, we will be renting their church building until the Elk Grove Park District building (the Jack A Claes Pavilion) reopens the first week in July (hopefully).

The church is called: Revive Church and the address is: 10040 Grand Avenue, Franklin Park. (map below)

The website is: www.revivechurch.net

We will have our normal services at 8:15 and 10:15 AM.

Wednesday Evening Bible Study will continue to be livestreamed only (and not an in-person study until further notice).

Church Update 3-24-20 PM

Good Afternoon Church Family,

I watched the President’s briefing today and it looks like he wants the country back open for business and people working again by Easter—which is good news.

That means we have another 2 ½ weeks of “sheltering in place” ahead of us.

That said, I thank the Lord that we were able to livestream our last Sunday service and plan on livestreaming this Wednesday night’s Bible study as well.

Please join us at 7 pm as we will be continuing our study in the Book of Jude.

Also, I would like to resume the small groups next week using ‘Zoom’ which will allow all the small groups to meet and interact with one another thru the webcam on their home computers.

I will be in contact with Mike Nuxoll who will be contacting all the group leaders in the next day or two to set things up.

I know that for some of you “cabin fever” is taking its toll—which makes it even more important that we ‘come together’ remotely thru the avenue of social media.

I know it’s not the same as being with each other face to face, but it’s better than no fellowship with each other at all—

“And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.” (Hebrews 10:25)

Love you all and see you soon!

Pastor Phil

Church Update – 3-21-20 AM

Good Morning Church Family, Beloved of God,

Well, our governor (J.B. Pritzker) has announced a statewide ‘stay-at-home’ order aimed at stopping the spread of coronavirus.

The order is expected to begin at 5 p.m. Saturday (tonight) and continue until the end of April 7.

The governor is asking Illinoisans to ‘hunker down’, stay at home and not come into contact (as much as possible) with other human beings as a way of fighting this virus.

President Trump has started to refer to himself as a “wartime president” seeing as he (and his team) are fighting a war against COVID-19.

To borrow a line from Thomas Paine during the Revolutionary War—“These are the times that try men’s souls”—and indeed they are.

For many Americans, they find themselves isolated and bereft of human contact with only social media to satisfy their longing to connect and communicate with others.  At this time in history, I thank God we do have social media as a way to connect with each other.

Having said that, please join us tomorrow at 10 AM for the first livestream of our church services.

Tomorrow’s service will be basic, as we want to keep it simple so see how things go.

But then beginning the week after, I’d like to introduce some worship into our service before the message.

Please keep things in prayer—as someone has said, “Life is hard, but God is good!”

I love you all, and want to encourage you to keep looking up—and remember that God is on the throne (sovereign) and we must trust Him to see us thru difficult times no matter how bad things get around us.

Psalm 46:1-3 (NKJV)
God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, Even though the earth be removed, And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though its waters roar and be troubled, Though the mountains shake with its swelling.

Habakkuk 3:17-18 (NKJV)
Though the fig tree may not blossom, Nor fruit be on the vines; Though the labor of the olive may fail, And the fields yield no food; Though the flock may be cut off from the fold, And there be no herd in the stalls– Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation.

In Jesus precious name,

Pastor Phil
